Annette Poku, MSW, LCSW
Program Director
Annette P. is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker whose career is defined by a steadfast commitment to the emotional well-being and resilience of the individuals and families she serves. With advanced training and licensure grounded in evidence-based clinical practice, Annette brings both professional expertise and genuine compassion to every therapeutic relationship she builds
Annette specializes in supporting individuals navigating some of life’s most challenging experiences, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and significant life transitions. Her therapeutic approach is both collaborative and client-centered — recognizing that healing is not a one-size-fits-all journey, but a deeply personal process that requires trust, cultural sensitivity, and individualized care. She draws on a range of evidence-based modalities to help clients develop practical tools for building resilience, confidence, and lasting emotional well-being.
Holding a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree alongside her clinical licensure, Annette has developed a practice rooted in the belief that every individual deserves access to high-quality mental health support regardless of their background or circumstances. This conviction is particularly meaningful in the context of refugee and immigrant communities, where trauma, displacement, and cultural adjustment often intersect in complex and profound ways.
Annette’s expertise in trauma-informed care and her compassionate, strengths-based methodology make her an invaluable contributor to RICA’s growing mental health and wellness programming. Her work aligns directly with RICA’s mission to provide culturally responsive, comprehensive services to refugee and immigrant families across Worcester County.
